Abstract

Background: Chronic pain, affecting over 20% of the global population, remains one of the most challenging conditions to manage due to its complex physiological and psychological dimensions. While traditional pharmacological approaches, such as opioids and NSAIDs, have been the cornerstone of pain management, emerging therapies are offering safer and more effective alternatives.
Methods: This review evaluates the efficacy and safety of novel treatments, including neuromodulation techniques, biologics, and cannabinoid-based therapies, in chronic pain management. Recent clinical trials and meta-analyses were analyzed to provide insights into their mechanisms and therapeutic outcomes.
Results: Emerging therapies demonstrated significant pain reduction and functional improvement, particularly in patients with refractory pain conditions. These treatments also present a lower risk of dependency compared to traditional opioids.
Conclusion: Innovative therapies, combined with a multidisciplinary approach, are reshaping chronic pain management. Their integration into clinical practice could improve the quality of life for millions of patients.
